Many cities have laid claim to being the one true "City of Champions" or "Titletown, U.S.A.". In that spirit, we charted championships in all four sports over a map of North America. The higher the stack, the better claim that city has to being the most successful sports city in the country. This map makes it easy to identity and compare the titles of cherished sports traditions from the east to west coast. Here are some of the easy-to-identify highlights—

  • Boston, MA—Supported by the excellent Celtics dynasty and topped off with their unbelievable run in all four sports the past ten years.
  • Pittsburgh, PA—The first true City of Championships stands tall, with the foundation of the 1970s Steelers dynasty.
  • Dallas, TX—No longer just a football town, the Mavericks championship crowns the stack.
  • Los Angeles, CA—Land of the Lakers. Not a single one of those purple blocks are from the Clippers, by the way.
  • Canada—Toronto, Montreal and Edmonton rise over the Great White North.

The map only dates to 1966 because that was the year of Super Bowl I, meaning for the first time a legitimate championship was offered in all four major sports leagues.
